Setting up Outlook for Android

If you want to set up an IMAP or POP email account, or don't have an email account with Exchange ActiveSync, use these instructions. When you set up an email account using IMAP or POP, only your email will sync--not calendar or contacts.

Set up POP or IMAP account in Outlook for Android:
  1. In Outlook for Android, go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.
  2. Enter email address. Tap Continue. When asked to select an email provider, choose IMAP or POP3.
  3. Toggle Advanced settings on and enter your password and server settings.

Email Server Settings:

If you need to enter specific values for incoming and outgoing server names, port numbers, or SSL settings, you can use Outlook's advanced setup option. You can use these instructions to add a POP or IMAP account.
  1. The Account settings screen should be pre-populated with most of the account settings you need. However, if you need to enter your settings manually, see the POP and IMAP account settings below.
    1. Username: Full email address (e.g. john@mydomain.com)
    2. Password: Use the email account’s password.
    3. Incoming Server: Enter the incoming server provided (e.g. mail.mydomain.com)
      • Select the correct port and encryption method:

        IMAP Port: 993 Port: 995
        Select SSL/TLS in the "Encryption method" dropdown.

    4. Outgoing Server: Enter the outgoing server provided (e.g. mail.mydomain.com)
      • Select the correct port and encryption method:

        SMTP Port: 465
        Select SSL/TLS in the "Encryption method" dropdown.

    5. IMAP, POP3, and SMTP require authentication.
  2. Tap the checkmark icon to complete.
